About
Who we are.
Zelo Algoritmico is a technology consulting and talent company registered in Portugal. We support businesses in building strong offshore technology teams by delivering experienced professionals in Web and Mobile Development, Quality Assurance, DevOps, ERP and other domains — and we bring many of those professionals into Europe ourselves.
Origin
Built by engineers who were once the candidate.
Zelo was founded out of a straightforward observation from inside the European technology industry: the companies here cannot find enough qualified engineers, and the engineers who want to come here cannot find the door.
We come from delivery, not from sales. Our assessment work is run by practising engineers — people currently doing test automation, development and platform work on real European projects — which is why our shortlists are short and why our clients stop re-screening after the first engagement.
The word zelo means diligence, and algoritmico means we prefer method to guesswork. Both halves of the name are meant literally.
Position
Why Portugal.
Inside the EU, contractually
The contract is with a Portugal-registered entity, so the engagement sits within EU standards and legal frameworks. Procurement teams do not have to make an exception for it, and invoicing carries IVA like any domestic supplier.
A time zone everyone can work in
WET/WEST overlaps a full working day with the rest of Western Europe, most of the Middle East, and a usable morning window with South Asia — the reason our offshore resources work Portuguese business hours rather than a handover shift.
A real bridge to South Asia and Lusophone Africa
Lisbon is one of the few European capitals where the technology sector, the language and the migration history already point outward. That is the network Rota runs on.
Principles
How we operate.
Place the right person, not the available one
Every placement is matched against both the technical and the cultural needs of the client. A fast bad match costs everyone more than a slow good one, so we would rather send you two profiles than twenty.
Move quickly, but say when we cannot
We aim to deliver qualified candidates in the shortest possible time — typically a shortlist within a week and onboarding in about four. When a role is genuinely hard to fill, we say that at the start rather than sending noise to look busy.
Ask for feedback we might not enjoy
We gather frequent, structured feedback from clients to improve quality, adjust quickly, and keep engagements healthy over years rather than quarters.
Stay after onboarding
Smooth onboarding and continuous support so new resources become productive quickly and stay aligned throughout the engagement. The placement is the beginning of our obligation, not the end of it.
The model
Two businesses that feed each other.
Most staffing companies buy their candidates from job boards. We develop ours.
- Rota finds and prepares the talent. Skilled non-EU technologists enter the programme, are assessed by our own engineers, and come out with a Portuguese-market profile and evidence behind it.
- The consulting side gives them somewhere to go. Our client engagements are a live destination for the strongest of those candidates — which is why the programme is free to anyone we place ourselves.
- Clients get a shortlist we already believe in. Because we assessed these people months before you asked, our shortlists are pre-evaluated in a way a keyword search never is.
- Nobody is trapped. Candidates are free to take any offer they win, including from companies we have no relationship with. That is the honest test of whether the preparation worked.
